Obama: after knowing Rev. Wright for 20 years, I'm shocked to learn his views

So, what he's saying is that he's either a liar or an idiot. Somehow I doubt he sat there for 20 years while this guy raved and hadn't heard anything.

Wright praised black supremacist Louis Farrakhan. Then he was quoted as saying, "I do not in any way disagree with James Cone. Jim is a personal friend of mine."

Who's James Cone? Why, a black liberation "theologist," of course, one whose teachings Wright buys into and spreads to his flock at his Church, with Obama nodding at the pews. Cone:
Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community . . . Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.
And Obama sat in this guy's church for 20 years and heard none of this.

Right?

Riiiight.

Exactly. If McCain had gone to a church with an outspoken white supremacist as a pastor, what would america be saying about him?

It's not just that. Wright was the one who converted him to Christianity, married him, and even baptized his children. He served as the inspiration for his book and Obama launched his campaign by having a prayer with him. The two are joined at the hip.
